FLOWLab Celebrates Graduation and Awards!

FLOWLab was excited to celebrate a big graduation milestone this May 2024. FLOWLab had a fantastic graduation closeout with multiple happy updates reflecting the hard work of all trainees. Pictured here is FLOWLab's graduating cohort: Chayut Teeraratkul (PhD), Josh Gregory (BS-MS), Kelly Cao (BS), Argudit C. (BS), and Sarthak Samal (BS). Josh Gregory and Kelly Cao were awarded College Undergraduate Research Award, and Argudit C. was awarded a College Academic Engagement Award by the University of Colorado Boulder College of Engineering & Applied Science. In addition: Argudit C. also is a finalist at the upcoming SB3C org Undergraduate Student Paper Competition; and thereafter will be joining University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus for an MD. Chayut Teeraratkul got hooded as the first PhD student from FLOWLab; and is also a finalist at the upcoming SB3C org PhD Student Paper Competition. Last but not the least: FLOWLab's latest doctoral trainee Nick Rovito topped the end of semester off with an Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award in the Paul M Rady Department of Mechanical Engineering.

These successes are reflective of the efforts each of these trainees have put in; and present a snapshot of the talent and potential they will bring in to their professional domain as they continue to grow in their career. I also want to note that, in academia, successes are beautiful but infrequent at times. As we celebrate these moments, as mentors and peers, we need to also recognize the critical role of dedicated support and guidance through the difficult phases of research/training.
