Our JEDI Commitment.

We remain fiercely committed to the cause for justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Our JEDI statement

As an interdisciplinary research group set within a premier institution, we remain fiercely committed towards promoting a just, diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment. As a group we strive to embrace diversity, foster social justice and equity, and promote inclusion by recruiting and providing opportunities to individuals from a wide variety of gender, ethnic, sexual orientation, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds. Furthermore, we prioritize creating an inclusive climate where individuals from all backgrounds can actively contribute, and can succeed in their professional and personal goals. Members of the FLOWLab pledge to always serve as responsible citizens who are aware of their role in the broader community, and who support efforts towards social justice and equity individually and as a group. Through our own group activities, and planned outreach efforts, we constantly look to support a more diverse, more equitable, more just, and more inclusive community. We welcome students and scholars from all backgrounds, particularly those which are traditionally under-represented, to reach out to us and work with us!

Our JEDI actions as responsible citizen!

  1. The FLOWLab Responsible Citizen Action Challenge involves every FLOWLab member to host a short discussion on a topic of relevance for JEDI efforts during weekly FLOWLab group meetings. Activities include reading, listening, attending, discussion, and integrating JEDI related content/events into our group.
  2. FLOWLab members continue to directly engage with, organize, participate in, and promote outreach event and mentoring of students from diverse gender, racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
  3. FLOWLab actively participates with department and college JEDI efforts and activities.
