New publication in plos computational biology!

We are delighted to announce the publication of our latest research article "Understanding thromboembolus transport patterns in the brain for stroke in the presence of carotid artery stenosis" in PLoS Computational Biology! This work was led by doctoral trainee Ricardo Roopnarinesingh, along with our long term collaborator Michelle Leppert, and former undergrad mentee and soon to be Dr Neel Jani.

This is a nice and impactful instance of network level nonlinearities in flow phenomena in the human body. Courtesy of this work, we now also have a set of synthetic digital twins of parameterized carotid stenosis variations (see image on the left). This work was supported by The National Institutes of Health, and we remain grateful for CU Research Computing support for the computational analyses.
