We are delighted to share the arrival of a new pre-print from our lab, available on bioRxiv at this link. We have been playing around with implicit geometry representations for vascular anatomy courtesy our collaboration with Adarsh Krishnamurthy, and we present here our work on using implicit vascular geometries for Lagrangian and particle-based simulations. The pre-print specifically demonstrates a trick to convert an essentially Lagrangian operation of wall interaction resolution into an inherently Eulerian operation, thereby providing computational gains as we scale up the number of particles for a Lagrangian analysis. This pre-print encompasses collaborative work between the University of Colorado Boulder, and Iowa State University with contributions from: James Scott Malloy, Dr. Sreeparna Majee, Akshita Sahni, Ricardo Roopnarinesingh, and Aditya Balu. We also thank our funders: The National Institutes of Health, and National Science Foundation (NSF) for their valuable support towards this endeavor. Congratulations team!
