FLOWLab doctoral trainee Jessica Holmes completed a successful summer stint as a recipient of the 2026 Colorado Science and Technology Policy Fellowship! As part of this fellowship, Jessica worked with Colorado state lawmakers and major local industry partners, bringing in a creative fusion of her computational biomedical sciences research and relevant healthcare policy in the state of Colorado. Jessica's work through this fellowship looked specifically into AI-based technologies and how that features in modern healthcare, which is a highly relevant topical area given the proliferation of AI across the broader healthcare domain. Her work involved visit to the Colorado State Capitol building, and pictured below are a few photographs from some of these visits: on the left, Jessica (2nd from the left) and the rest of her fellowship cohort; and on the right, is a professional profile picture taken during the fellowship. Congratulations Jessica, and we remain excited to see where this work goes next!
