FLOWLab trainees had a fantastic performance at the recently concluded 2026 United States Association for Computational Mechanics (USACM) Student Poster Competition, held virtually. Doctoral trainee Jessica Holmes won 1st place in the poster competition! Jessica presented her work on microstructure aware modeling of blood clots for high fidelity reconstruction of local hemodynamic environment around occlusive clots.

Additionally, FLOWLab trainee Nick Rovito was one of the other finalists, meaning that 2 out of the 10 finalists were from our team. Nick presented his work on custom computational frameworks for transport phenomena in the brain, with applications to thrombolytic therapy in stroke.

Congratulations Jess and Nick for this wonderful accomplishment!
