FLOWLab played the leading host in successfully organizing the MechBio Symposium 2026 earlier this week on May 18, 2026, at the University of Colorado Boulder.

The symposium brought together over 60 participants and attendees spanning 11 institutions for a full-day of scientific exchange and conversations on biomechanics and mechanobiology. The topics ranged from LLMs to cytoskeletal mechanics, and from image texture analysis to senescence. This aptly reflected our symposium theme of enabling convergence across signals, stimuli, and systems. We extend our sincere thanks to our keynote and expert speakers, whose contributions set the intellectual tone for the day and made this symposium truly memorable. We also thank our panel of expert judges whose careful assessment of the posters enabled the awards decisions. Lastly we thank our organizing volunteers, which were students and trainees from FLOWLab, whose behind-the-scenes efforts kept the event running smoothly. Not only did FLOWLab trainees work tirelessly to make the event happen, but they also presented 3 scientific posters, and Nick Rovito took home a best poster award for his work on von Willebrand Factor deformation under elongational flow states.

Congratulations and thank you Team!
